It is honest to say, I am very afraid of HE class, the emails and the oral teacher at first. But as time goes by I become to know that is my responsibility as a student to completion the assignment. If we writing more, listening more, speaking more and reading more English, then our English level shouldn’t be so bad maybe it is very good.

HE assignments take a lot of time to finish, but I think it worths. I have boarden my view and thought something that I didn’t want to think or even never thought before. HE teaches me how to learn English and inspires me to use English in a more relaxing yet more efficient way. If someone simply treat it as a load and just want to be so so, then it’s just a waste of time.

To notify the students to finish their homework on time is not the teacher’s responsibility, but our teacher did it just in order to let us learn more English activity, all of us have the duty to perform them correctly and in time. Who is going to make him or her notice that “you are doing the wrong thing, you are just kidding yourself!” So I have to thank to you that you remind me again. But it didn’t take much time before I realized what’s the correct way I should follow. I shouldn’t hide myself and should speak out in HE class. Honestly, I have complained about your homework now and then. It is because there is lots of homework for us to finish which will not happen in other classes. As a science student, on one hand I need to finish classes, on the other hand I need to start my experiment. Sometime I really want there are 48 hours a day. Then, I have enough time to finish my work. However, that is unreality. I must learn to organize my time and complete my work as far as possible.
From your homework, I found out lots of pleasure. I can express my opinions freely, exchange them with classmates, and through those expand my field of vision. It is of great help to my study. Therefore, I stick to finish the homework on my own on time.
I will not say about responsibility. I think it has little relationship with my learning. All I did are not for responsibility, and they have already benefited me which you can see easily. Thanks to Martin, we own this wonderful environment to upgrade our HE.
Frankly speaking, it did take me some time to finish all of the homework from HE class. And at the beginning, I treated them as tasks from Professor Martin. But gradually, I feel these pieces of homework do help us to think about the problems in chinese english teaching system as well as help us to learn english in the right way. So if we really want to use english as a native english speaker, we have to work hard on it.
It’s a surprise to me anyone who don’t like the EC,I like it very much,it’s a good time to speak English freely,you can do it anyway you like and worry is unnecessary. I have transcend myself though the ABC Day , that is do the first step to speak English.It depends myself to learn it in the future.

UNBELIEVABLE!
As for me , the movie is a little old in some point. As a Chinese, I read Iron and Silk and am amazed at how much Mark got into the soul of the ordinary Chinese people.
In 30 short anecdotes, Mark gives a compassionate and humorous account of teaching English and studying martial arts in Changsha, a provincial capital in central China shortly after the opening of the country in the early 1980s. In the best manner of innocents abroad, Mark knows how to make fun of his blunders in a very charming way. He conveys his sense of wonder beautifully, and does not pass judgment on anything he witnesses. At the beginning, it is difficult for him and he adjusts himself into Chinese culture .To Mark, the students have learned many things from him, he also have learned of the Chinese character and culture.
So from my standpoint, with the culture changes, the two cultures can learn each other and make a great progress. As for china ,it could become more successful in TEFL!

I went into watching this movie with low expectations. It only took about 5 minutes before I was totally interested in it. It is a true story about an American guy named Mark Salzman who went to China in 1982 – 1984 to teach English and learn Wushu. It really interested me because it shows a lot of insight into Chinese culture and what China was like in the 1980’s. China has had such an incredible change over the past 20 years. I recommend this movie to the Chinese who want to see China through a foreigner’s eyes, and to foreigners who want to see what China was like 20 years ago. Readers will become aware of the many styles of the sport， and， incidentally， the real meaning of “kung fu.” The personalities encountered range from Salzman’s students and teachers to calligraphers， peasants， fishermen， and bureaucrats. Each fascinating episode illuminates the way to a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and character. Maybe what Ming said in the movie had already told the truth: in America, love is on someone’s business; but in China, love was on everyone’s business at that time. The story was happened in the early 1980s. At that time, China just begun to reform and opening-up, the people and the government couldn’t agreed the Chinese woman and a foreigner fell in love or even got married.

Iron and Silk is a collection of anecdotes from a couple of years that Salzman spent teaching English in the backwater city of Changsha, China. Even a long time past, but I think the problem still be there. Nowadays our china gets much progress, and many foreigners come to china to teach English, but the ways we learn English do not get much change. Many Chinese find it hard to learn English well. I think it mostly due to culture difference. There are several special places of this act.Firstly, the trade secret includes thoughts and ideas, so few thing can not be involved in trade secret. These days, I speak a lot and feel good about my English. I recognize that I am not afraid of losing face. But somebody would still laughed at my pronunciation. Sometimes, I feel a little sad about it. However, I will never give up speaking English if I have the opportunity.
I know I haven’t finished the work given by Martin, but everyday I would spend several hours to read English which sometimes is about my major. And I will finish the work as soon as possible. I won’t be kidding myself.

To tell the truth, at first I didn’t understand why you set us some strange assignment neither, but after I attended the English corner, I experienced the process of improving oral English, I realized most of your intentions are for our sake, really. Maybe some of us benefited from you earlier, the others will benefit later. Just be patient. I believe, everything you had done and would do will pay off someday.
In my opinion, if someone doesn’t have the desire to do something, he/she won’t be active to work on it. So once we want someone to follow our advice or instructions, we have to evoke his/her desire first and make him/her believe in his/her minds that it’s good for him/her.

I think that honesty is one of the most basic quality of college students, especially graduate students.Lacking of honesty is a common social phenomenon,nowaday,it even present to the serious academic environment of universities.Some students plagiarize academic achievements of other people when they are doing their papers.Even more infuriating is that some of well-known university professors also plagiarize the outcome of the efforts of other people.In my opinion ,this action is reflecting that universities ,in china, lack of independent innovation.

Chinese students don’t use e-mail as often as Western country.So we can’t read teachers’mail immediately.And if Professir Martin doesn’t indicate “assignment”,many students won’t make time to post every article ,cause we are always so busy everyday.

I know our future is ourselves and we study for ourselves. If we want find a good job we must hard study especially English. In ABC day I speak English all day, it is difficult for me but that I know my English is poor and I must hard study English. I am sorry that I have not finish “warning :Trojan horse inside great wall”, because I have not watch the movie. And I will as quickly as possible finish it.
In my opinion ,lies or cheating aren’t meaningful because learning English is our own thing. We should speak English well for ourselves,not for the teacher .We are adults and we should be responsible for our behavior. To tell the truth ,although the homework is so much ,but the experience is good and useful for me! Thank you !
