This phenomenon is very common .In some some hospitals , they also use abacus.It is chinese culture.Chinese use the abacus very long time.People is accustomed to using it.they can use abacus more fast than calculator.So it is not strange to see people use it in China.

Chinese people always the cultural meaning of things that their ancestors handed down,such as abacus. Not to say that technology is so advanced,we can give up something that appears to be very old;In fact, feature that those very old things play is not much worse than the modern technology.Bank staff use the abacus in China.Perhaps,in their view,abacus is more useful than the computer.The phenomenon is also very common in ordinary life.Some bookkeepers like using abacus when they calculate.Now,even many children begin to learn mental arithmetic.the tools they use is that looks very old abacus.In new era,we can not only see the development of the technology.The things that those ancestors left us are only the most precious things,it is the real culture.

Nowadays,using computers becomes more and more popular.But abacus is a arithmetic tool and it is no only displayed in the museum.Abacus can improve students’intelligence.In practice, students in preschool or primary school learn abacus, their right and left brain can get all-round development. After learning in elementary school, the child can show more talent in mathematics.So I think abacus should not be eliminated and abacus is very useful for us in our life.

I think Chinese show the special preference to the abacus. Even though the computers are wildspread and bring us much convenience, we choose the abacus firstly. The computers bring us convenience also besides brains rigescent.

Abacus is a traditional tool for calculating. I think using abacus is ont only for calcaulating but also can strenthen fingers and exercise brains. Nowaday most of people use automation to deal with the daily round, althouth it is very convenient, it will make our brains rigescent and more dependence on automation.

In my opinion ,abacus is a traditional tool for calculating in China,but it has a low speed.so we maybe use a computer instead of abacus at a latter time.
