Although China grow up rapidly since 1978, with average 8 to 9 percent GDP growth, Chinese resident live an unsafe life today. Social imparity becomes serious. And this inequality can be a serious factor of instability. We worry about our food, medicine and so forth.
Our government should focus more on residents’ live standard rather than the figure of GDP. If so, I believe China can develop to be a strong and powerful country in 10 years or 50 years. But, if many social issues cannot be solved, maybe there would be a not very optimistic future.
As a Chinese people, I hope one day, our residents can live safer. People from different class will be more equal. We can express our viewpoint more freedom. We all strive for it.

I think China will be still a developing country in 10 years. Ten years are not enough for China to grow up completely. However, it is hard to say what China will be like in 50 years. Nobody knows what will happen in the future. Everyone hopes that everything will be better in the future than before. But there are so many problems in China nowadays: the environment is worse than before; the gap between the rich and poor is becoming larger and larger; the inequities exist everywhere…All of these problems should be solved in the first before China is all grown up. China should not only learn from developed countries, but also maintain the traditional Chinese culture. I hope in the future, everyone in the world will say that China is not only an ancient civilization, but also a modern civilization.

China is a developing country. And we have achieved great success in economy.
When you are in Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou, you feel China is a developed country; if you go to some other cities which are not capitals of provinces, you will find China is still a developing country; but while you are in a very small western village which is out of the way, you may think China needs very long time and hard work to become a developed country.
So in future, the problem is not the speed of GDP, but how can people in this country share equally the wealth which is brought by the quick increase of GDP. People don’t have to move to those big cities for a better life, because they can be satisfied in their hometown.

Ten or fifty years later, China will become one of the most powerful countries. Then China will be more confident. By confident, I mean China may dare to show her real present–the advantages and disadvantages. The government is criticized to conceal the negative factor in the Beijing Olympics. However I totally understand why the government does so. Since too many people in other nations, especially western countries, are ignorant about China, even mistake her, the government must try to show positive look and not risk losing “face”. When China grows up and becomes strong enough, she does not need to disguise the weakness, knowing that she is the best.

Since the reform and opening up, China’s economy developed rapidly, but China is still a developing country. With the economic development, some people become very rich, but most of young people have no house, the old man can not afford the medical expenses. As a Chinese, in 10 years and 50 years, on the one hand, I hope China becomes more and more strong, the status can be improved continuously in the world, the reunification of Taiwan and mainland China can be achieved; on the other hand, I have a dream, most of people get richer and richer, and the community can provide a fair opportunity for everyone.

In 10 or 50 years, I wish that there will be much more comfortable living in China. As the booming of economic, the air and water are polluted especially in developed cities like Guangzhou, Shanghai ect. I wish every Chinese live happily and healthily in the future. There will be no war and conflict.

I do not pay attention to the GDP of china. Although our country is the third-largest economy, there are many people who live in abject poverty. The GDP growth only shows our country is developing. What will China be like when it is all grown up? On one hand, all the people have prosperous lives and seek for a higher consciousness. On the other hand, harmonious communication between human beings and nature come true. But 10 years even 50 years is not enough for china to grown up completely. In these years, the social security will cover all the people. With the concern to the environment pollution, the awareness of environmental protection will be enhanced.

As we all known, China is the exclusive nation who has a continuously long history for more than five thousand years. But it is the People’s Republic of China who is just in its infancy. We have now stepping into primary stage of socialism, that’s why we still have a long way to go. I hope current situation will take on a new look in the future, no matter it will spend 10 or 50 years. We Chinese people will win more respect and trust from the whole world, play an important role in international relations and set up a good example for those independent developing countries. I would love to see China becoming more and more harmonious and powerful, people there turning to be honest and tolerant. And there will be less corruption, less immorality, less cheat and more peace. Societies are usually more complicated than we can hope, anyway our motherland is worthy of being made every effort to.

Speak of future of China, I hope that government can try its best to reduce the disparity, and achieve common prosperity, which is my greatest wish.
Why I hope this is because I grew up in rural areas and studying in the bustling city, I deeply appreciate the gap between rural and urban. Because of the policy of government, many large cities developed rapidly in recent years. However, village develops more slowly than city. What is the most sad, the farmers endure the hardship, but to exchange for a life of poverty. So, I hope that this situation could change in the future.

I was born in 1988. When I was young, our material requisite can not be satisfied to a certain extent. But now, our life has changed totally. China is growing up. I love my country and I hope she will become better in many aspects. Firstly, the environment can be more friendship, not only in natural environment, but also in political environment. Secondly, I hope effective action can be taken to fight against corruption and the gap between rich and poor can be reduced. What’s more, I wish the social security could cover the vast rural areas and the living condition of the migrant workers could be improved. At last, I want our education system to be more perfect. So that we can cultivate more talents and attract more outstanding people from all over the world.

No one knows what china and the world will be like in ten years! Each stage has the primary task of each stage. Now china is still a developing country, and what it will do mostly is for economic development and improving the total GDP and as is known to us all, it is becoming more and more prosperous. But our china has so many people that it still has a lot of people who is still in extreme poverty. So firstly I hope that not only our country will be more prosperous than ever before, our people, especially farmers will be better off than before. At the same time, the Taiwan island will return to our motherland without sword just because of envying of the mainland people enjoying a happiness life.

  • Jackey Class 5C

I hope our china will become a real harmonious country in 10 or 20 years.

  • Caren Class 6C

China in 50 years even 10 years is hard to predict. I wish it would be a country of both modern and tradition. Nowadays, the rapid development of economy has done serious harm to the used China. Traditional buildings were destroyed to build fashionable ones, traditional festivals and customs were forgotten or taken placed by foreign ones, and culture full of wisdom was shelved. A country needs development, and also needs its unique feature and faith to unite all the people. I’d like to see a new China with affluent people, beautiful cities and an improved judicial and political system externally promoted by economy development. I’d like to see a new China with pleased people and harmonious society internally promoted by traditional culture and wisdom.

  • There are three aspects which I desire mostly that our country can improve in the future. The first aspect is environmental protection. Environmental protection industry should be firmly built up with no doubt in China. Without ecology business, sustainable development will be a total daydream. The second aspect is the renaissance of our traditional culture. Traditional culture is important for us because there are a lot of rational and precious qualities left by our ancestors which we should carry on. Without these qualities, we could not call ourselves real descendants of the Yellow. Rebuilding traditional culture is also a good way to promote our national quality. The last aspect is honesty education for all citizens in China. Lacking of honesty has done a lot of harm to our country in every area, including food security, drug safety and academic standards. Dishonesty not only destroys the trust among people in China and ruins our country’s international image, but also threatens our interests and safety in nowadays. If we sincerely wish that our country will earn the whole world’s respect and appreciation, we should try our best together with our government to prove that China is a country that can always improve itself and Chinese people become better and better. I deeply believe that all my wishes will come true one day.

  • Jason Class 5C

It is my pleasure to show you the future of China on my view point. That will be a country without unfair, without poor, without evil. That will be a country full of energy, full of wealth, full of peace. Justice is a prevalent phenomenon across China. The people are all equal in the front of the laws. Anyone who wants to obtain a privilege through the illegal approaches will be sentenced to the prison or will receive the criticized from the community. The whole land of China can develop fully. There are no distinguished factors between urban and rural areas.
Democracy will be build on the basis of the society. We people all have the right to decide the issues related to us. We can express ourselves freely. We have the right to do something and not to do something within the law. Thinkers can give a public lecture to their audiences; of course the context of the lecture should within the law.
Our great motherland will unify. We 56 nations can work together, live together in harmony. The issue of Taiwan is no longer a problem.
The People all are well educated. The relationships among people are pure. They respect each other no matter who they are. People all have the job. And they do not believe work is a kind of thing to earn life, they believe work is a kind of life. People can do the work they want to do. We don’t have the press to find a job. We just want to get a job.
We don’t have the reasons to hold a large army. People all over the world cherish the heart of peace. No violence! No invasion!
I also would like to show you that the CPC also provide the vision of the future China. It is” We must do our best to ensure that all our people enjoy their rights to education, employment, medical and old-age care, and housing, so as to build a harmonious society.” [1]

I hope the standard of living is improving in 50 years, without too much living pressure. At the same time, the wealth gap becomes narrow. National reunification will come true and then ethnic harmony will achieve. China will be stronger enough not be bullied any more.

  • Connie Class12C

As we are the generation growing with the blooming of our country, we feel the development of the whole country deeply. In recent decade, there are so many changes in our life and in our minds.
In ten years, I hope the country holds on the development steadily without hyper inflation. The government pays attention to the rich-poor gap and contributes more to less developed areas. Many society problems, ethnic issues, international disputes may set about to solve in suitable methods. And after 50 years, I would like to find China is a country values academic talents and full of creativities. Everyone enjoy the fair opportunity to study, work and live. The whole society steps up higher.

  • Shelly Class 11C

China is a developing country, but she is not an infant. China has long history, so it has many lagging systems. After the reform and opening-up, China`s economic developing is very fast. But there are many unharmonious things. For example, the gap between the rich and the poor is becoming more and more wide. There are many unfair situations in our society. In the future, I hope our country can improve this terrible phases. The people of our country can feel more happiness and safety in their daily life.

  • Heather Class 11C

Our country is developing all the time. I am proud of the progresses she made. Even so, she still in her infancy.
I firmly believe that more and more achievements will improve our environment we live. For example, with the continuous increasing of income, our livelihood enhance as well as the standards of consumption. At the same time, we concentrate on more our spirit pursuit than material requisite. Our country will be so stronger to conquer many difficulties. I think China will play more important role acting as a large developing country in the world after 10 years. Our science and technology will be full of creation not made-in-China. And the people living in China will have higher quality. The society becomes more harmonious. Of cause, the excellent tradition will be keep by generations. In a word, though the developing speed is slow, the fruit will be shown one after another.

  • Candy Class 3C

I’d like to see that five or ten years later, the gap between rich and poor people shrinks by the efforts made by the government. I‘d like to witness a successful translation in the hope that the way of the economic growth switches from labor-intensive to capital-intensive. I am eager to see that the skyrocketing growth of china will bring world peace that a strong country has the responsibility to undertake but try to eliminate the panic or threaten by its actual behaviors.

  • Danica Class 1C

There is much news about the China threat theory or the rise of China, but I think China is still in its infancy, just as a baby, maybe the baby is putting on weight, but it to be stronger is only in its weight, not anything. So I think we can say China is all grown up only when it is strong in everything, including environment protecting, social security system, medical treatment system and so on. I really want to see our country will be stronger in everything not only in the GDP or the size of population.

  • Berry Class2C

China undergoes a rapid economic development since it has implemented the policy of reform and opening up. But the situation here in china doesn’t work as well as it seems. Especially the policy, laws and regulations and fundamental facilities are not sound enough to match the development of the economic, which just like a child grows up quickly but his/her clothes haven’t changed much.
So I hope our government can pay more attention to our system construction in the future, and care more about our living standard and not just focus on the economic growth. If they can do this, we can enjoy a much more harmonious society in five or ten years.

  • Andrea class 2C

For the past thirty years, China has developed quickly. Our DGP now is the fourth of the world, and the living standards are improved greatly. But we should notice that our country is still in its infancy.
Although we have made great progress, our comprehensive competition is still weak. We develop our country by raw marital. We just use our nature resources, and the technology develops slowly. The cost of our development is too high. From this point, I think China still needs a long way to go.
It is no doubt that China still need a very long time to develop completely. I hope it would be like this: first, the gap between the rich and the poor would be narrower and narrower, each class of people would live a rich life; second, our education system would be established completely, everyone could afford for college study; third, the pollutions would be solved well, we could live in a clean environment; fourth, it is no more too hard for a college graduate to find a job……I have too many ideas to list here. In a word, I hope that our country would be better and better.

  • Jessie Class 11C

Fifty years, compared to the whole history of the human being, is not a long time, but it still has a long way for China, our motherland to be fully developed. Though I cannot say what she exactly will look like in fifty years, I am really convinced that she must impress everybody in the world, and even be unrecognizable to us all.
People throughout the world may live in a place full of material desires, where they are able to get whatever they want with the assistance of high-technology. Unfortunately there exists another possibility that we have to challenge a variety of natural disasters as a punishment, which is the result of our unfriendly way treating the environment. I believe it is not just an exaggeration. Therefore, to lead a better life in the future, we should first be aware of the importance of environmental protection and devote ourselves to do it from every detail. Just remember “every little count”! Only in this way, our motherland will become better and better!

  • Amber Class 8C

It is an era of rapid development. Ten years later, I hope China is like this: The gap between rich and poor will be greatly reduced. The income of farmers can increase, with the quality of life’s improvement. They do not live too hard and tired. Farmers have enough money to see a doctor and can cure disease. City people can easily have their own set of house, the pressure is small, and they lead a healthy and comfortable life, not too busy and tired. In short, everyone must enjoy their lives.

  • John Class 5C

As we all known that China is developing very quickly in the past twenty years. In a very long history, China is the most developed country in the world. We have the most wealth in the world and Chinese people are the richest people in the world. But situations changed a hundred and a half years ago. Industry revolution budded in the west, such as Briton, which greatly promoted the development of the productive forces. Science then, China lagged behind the west and even bullied by the west. China have being catching up with the west. Until the year 1978, China opened its gate and began to reform some unreasonable system, and the economics of China have a long and fast development which gives all Chinese great confidence to believe that China will catch up with the west and become the richest country in the world again.
And when grow up, we will polite to all people around the world not like American who often does something which make others unhappy.

  • Erick Class6C

I had never thought about this question before. Maybe, to some extent, the level of development in America in present is that in China in future. Undoubtedly, American, England and Japan are always the subject which China want to pursue and catch. The complement of their development and welfare is the goal for Chinese struggling and striving constantly. However, it is difficult to fulfill this wonderful purpose. The population in China is as four times as that in America, even more in the future. Myriads of people living in the west of China still in below the poverty line. So, what I want China to be in the future is not necessary to be as rich and free as America, but let all the Chinese, no matter how the population large, live in their satisfied, abundant and happy lives. That is enough.

  • Anna Class8C

China still develops rapidly in these days. In my opinion, china will be institutionalize, laws will be gradually improved, the legal system will be further strengthened. Most of us will enjoy our rights and fulfill corresponding obligations. Secondly, china’ health care system will be more completed. With China’s economic develop, the government will lay more stress on health care system, the medical system will further improve, and we will enjoy the modern medical and health care.
In a word, China will be more and more advanced. Maybe during the course of development, we will encounter many kinds of difficulties .Our government and people will have patiences and applications to get through.

  • Lucy Class 11C

At present,China is still a developing country, which has to be perfected in the ecnomic system, political system and other many places. But this is just a matter of time,I believe that in the few decades,China will become a prosperous country. At that time, the three major problems of housing, health care, education will be resolved well, people can no longer be anxious for the living. At that time, evironment will be better protected and pollution will be greatly reduced, the man can live with nature in harmony.
In short, after several decades,China will be among the ranks of moderately developed countries,it will have greater influence in the world and can make greater contribution to build a harmonious world.

  • Maggie Class 11C

I think the China’s future is full of hope because it is attributed to the rapid development of our present policy and the government actively police. However, we have to meet some problems that do exist, for example, environmental pollution, population explosion, etc and these problems that the developed countries had ever met. I believe China has the ability and strength to solve these common problems of mankind.

  • Anita Class9

I want future China to be green, clean, unhurried, and confident and multicultural.
As we all know, China develops at a high speed and has made enormous achievements in the passing 60 year. But coins has two side, those achievements also indicate the damage of nature resources. Buildings take the places of forests and farms, dams stand in the way of rivers, the animals are left homeless in the boom of economy. It’s so terrible! I can stand imaging the horrible scene if we don’t take any measures to protect our motherland from polluting and destroying.
Further more, nowadays, all the Chinese people are trying to work more, make more money in order to earn a better life. So is the government. It is pursuing a high rate of increasing economy. But most of the people don’t feel happy. Life is too tough and stressful. Stress of living comes from every direction such as housing, education of kids, medical treatment and so on. I hope one day all the Chinese people can enjoy the fruit of economy increase and live happier, less stressfully other than pushed by the booming economy climate.

  • Evelyn Class 6C

When the picture of china is a little bit too red at the present, I’ll add some more colors to blend the vision through my crystal ball.

Blue for rationalism – the spirit of modesty will grab back the divine place in the heart of we yellow descendants, taking place of the malady of being too arrogant to the extent of extreme patriotism, which will be well blended into my philosophy of nurturing kids.
Green for peace – we live in a world that’s far away from wars and violence, not even those invisible conflicts or separation in our minds for ultimate good. Everybody is getting down to what they love in a peaceful world and with a peaceful mind.

Silver for innovation – the whole nation will make a big stride for flocks of creative youngsters will well get us forward in searching the unknown but won’t merely just sleep on the four great inventions of Ancient China. In terms of innovative ways of enhancing our development, both urban and rural areas surge itself in a healthy way, getting rid of a radical state of dualistic society.

Yellow for origin – we’re born yellow and this will be it for ever. What we looks like and the characteristic we pass down to later generations are what’s so precious to adore and treasure. A bound renaissance is under way, where a combat will loom so large between the digging and preserving of our own cultural heritage and the subconscious intrusion of western civilization. At the time when my hair is grey, we have the discretion of keeping our own and at the same time extracting essence of others.

There’s no magic of foretell, but ultimately time will tell.

  • Jane Class 13C

In my opinion, I hope people who live in China have a happy life. People not just satisfy with the substantial life, but also the spiritual life. In the past thirty years, we get much in economy, but we lost too much in spirit. Too much excellent Chinese traditional cultures disappear from our life.
I also hope when we make effort to make our country powerful, we pay attention to people who live in this country. I hope every Chinese can be taken care of when they are sick. I hope nobody needs to worry about that they can’t afford to buy a house. People who aren’t lazy can find a job.

  • Margaret Class 4C

What will China be like when it is all grown up? Many foreigners want to know the answer, probably because they’re afraid that the existence of a well-grown up China may be a threat to their benefits. There are many theories about this, describing many reasons why China will be a threat, such as how the old exuberance China treated the other countries and the deficiency of Chinese nation’s characteristic. However, I don’t think China will be a threat to other countries. Most Chinese people are friendly and willing to share different cultures with the foreigners. I think in the future the allocation of global resources and benefits between China and other countries will be fairer, but it doesn’t mean that China is a threat.

  • Wendy Class 12C

I believe that China will reach the economic and living standards of the medium developed country, people’s life will get better and better. And I hope the price of houses will get down in the future, because the price now is so high that I hardly afford it. Most of all I wish China will become the world power in the next 50 years. At that time, the most common language for communication is Chinese in the whole world, and then I do not need to learn English any more. Ha-ha. Just kidding.

  • Tony Class15C

China is a developing country. Yes, she is. So, is she an infant? No. I don’t think so.

China has a more- than-5000-year history. She was honored by other nations, also humiliated by other nations. 5000 years passed, the matured China still like a baby need to grow up. However, differentiated from an infant, matured China’s growing up needn’t other peoples to teach her how to grow up, as a nation of having 5000-year history, China must has her own way to go.

    I have a dream,
Although I’m not the Martin Luther King,
    That ten years later,
Can all the families in China have their own
    house to live in,
Can all the patients have good heal
    Where the hospital in ,
Can all the children over the land have their
    Should-be deserved educating,
Can all the old have their respect and
    Healthy and happy life.

That is my dream, and that is what I am willing China to be ten years later, or maybe 50 years later.

  • Sylvia Class 16C

As everybody knows, China’s economy is growing up very fast in these years. The problem is that it seems only the national economy growing fast, which is surely not enough. I wish in 10 years our country pay much more attention on human rights. Maybe I just read too much news about the dead babies and the right of free speech recently, but I really consider that many of our human rights are usually ignored in China. And in 50 years I wish we have many real actions for protecting human rights. The law is better and people lead a happier life.

  • Elaine Class 8C

I hope ten years later, the disparity between the rich and the poor will shorten, the rural areas can have the equal educational resources as urban areas, the society will be more hamornious.

  • Peter Class 8C

In my view,in another 50 years or longer,China may have been among the list of developed countries. It will be easy to find a job,and everyone will live a happy life without a huge gap between rich and poor. The social welfare will be improved,so people can get free medical care, no longer have to worry about the medical treatment.Housing conditions and living environment will also be improved, and a great number of foreigners will be applying for a Chinese green card.Furthermore, solar and other clean energy will be popularized at that time.
I believe, although may facing more complex issues in the coming decades,China can find a solution to make our social system more complete.

  • Nicole class 9C

If the policies are effective, the impoverished population would be decreased. Chinese people’s living conditions will be improved. However, there will be several potential problems needed to be paid attention to. First, we Chinese should notice the environmental problems when we are developing. The pollutions and the lack of resources get worse and worse. Second, maybe the unbalance economic system will cause a depression in GDP. I don’t know how serious it is. Third, the people’s desires should also be treated seriously. Although there are many problems. I still hope that we China would have a bright future. After 10 or 50 years, I wish we would live a more comfortable, more free and more wonderful life.

  • Micheal-ZSTU1

Well,I don’t know what china will like after 1o years, but I think it will be good,I have faith in chinese goverment, although there will encounter many problems,of course, the absolute harmony is hard to achieve, but we will not stop chasing.

  • Bill zstu 6

I hope the economic will still in a high speed and less inflation, this is very important to our nation, and less corruption,if it really like I hope ten years later,it would be perfect.

  • kitty ZSTU 2

China is still a developing country with per capita GDP is low, there are a lot of reasons, the biggest reason is overpopulation which leads to lack of resources. What;s more, China’s economy started lately, the current science technology is not advanced like the developed countries. But China is a vibrant country ,it is developing in a high speed which shocks all the countries in the world in recent years .If China really grows up, I think its influence could comparable with America.
