In the last class of this semester,I think we make you angery about what we do.After the class,some of my classmate talk about this event,we think you are right,you make us know that how lazy we are.In some aspects we should chang ourself.

EDITOR’S NOTE: 6 STUDENTS LEFT THE EXAM ROOM TO USE THE WC AND RETURNED WITH NEWLY PRINTED HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS. THIS IS CHEATING BECAUSE NOT ALL STUDENTS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CORRECT THEIR WORK AFTER LEARNING HOW IT WAS GRADED. THIS WAS A TAKE HOME EXAM THAT YOU HAD 5 WEEKS TO COMPLETE.

Why did so many fail the written final?

1. Failed to read instructions carefully.
2. Failed to follow instructions carefully.
3. Failed to Google “Formal Letter”
4. Failed to read the assigned articles
5. “So-So” attitude
6. Followed someone who was wrong instead of doing your own work

Thank you very much,professor,If we can met you in our primary school or middle school,I think our English will be much better!In my opinion,the most important time to study English is primary school and middle school.Now the younger generation have much better English than us.

Dear professor:
How time flies! It’s time to say goodbye to this semester. If there is something special happened this semester, no doubt is the holistic English course one of them. You are a man of strong will and able to put what you think to practice efficiently. You gave us some new perspectives to understand this world and English learning. Although there are some complaints about your insistence, actually there are still a lot of students appreciating what you have done. I am one of them, so thank you for your help in this semester. It’s a little pity to hear that you will leave China and wish you good luck!

I have to express my gratitude to the toil of my oral English teacher because all he did was for our progress in English. I have watched so many English movies and enjoyed so many great discussions in the class of this semester. And now I know what I have got at the class and what I will benefit from the class in the future. Finally, I believe what our teacher and we students did at the class are absolutely deserved.

Mr martin,
i have planned to write to you for a long time. what i want to say is about your behavior in China, to be exact, about your requirement for the students of “saying english word ‘hello’,rahter than chinese “你好”when they pick up the cellphones”. Your requirement is irreasonable, rude and even illegal.
first, all of your students are chinese, who are in china. they ought to speak their mother language, chinese, rather than english. the purpose of their learning english is to communicate with the world and introduce china to the world!!!
second, you definitely harmed their personal legal right. they have rights to choose what kind of language they want to speak. you definitely have no single right or power to threat them or force them to do so after class.
as a chinese, i am furious about what you did. i hope you can consider what i said and do some adjustment, otherwise i will adopt my right to bring a lawsuit against you.

What has impressed me most is Martin’s spirit, which can’t be found in Chinese teacher easily. At the beginning of the class, I felt nervous and shy. But after I followed his instruction of how to study English, watch English movie with English subtitle and to form a pure English environment, talk with my classmates in English, I felt comfortable and confidence. What I want to say is Martin is really a good teacher, his faith and the way to deal with things will help me a lot. Thank you, professor!

How time flies! The holistic English days with dear Martin have said farewell to us Class 16 C. From the complains at the beginning to the attachments till the end, I do change a lot through this class, not only in English learning but also in the world view and believes.
