A gullible public that chooses to believe they are official representatives of the WTO.
Gigantic funny pranks and parodies.
The result is a message delivered to unsuspecting people.
Truly funny.
But what, if anything did they accomplish?
At first,I thought they did their job to defend justice.But later I felt that what you said”Easier to criticize than to creat” is very correct.What they did was just complaining,they didn’t do something that can help Bush,WTO,even our people.At last,I must admit that they are very creative.
The WTO raelly do little things for develep contury .
To be a brave and creative person . In most moments ,complaining does nothing . Only real wisdom and action can take effect .
Maybe I can not understand the movie clearly because of the different cultures.But did they have nothing to do but make fun of the all people? I can not believe!I think they reflected some of the reality and had an influence on the their audiences in some ways.
before this moive ,public didn’t know they are not official representatives of the WTO,but now,everyone knew the truth. And, i think their anti-WTO career was dead when this moive birth
I believe that the WTO has a bad side, but also we should understand it, any organization is no substitute for it. We cannot deny its functions, anything always have two sides .
I think when they gave a lecture to the public about recycle, the audiences threw the hamburgers to them after listening to their explanation. I think, to some extent, they had made some effects on the public. And if they insist on, they will achieve their goals.
The Yes Men created the website and gave speeches in the public as a way to go against the WTO. Part of the policis made by the WTO are unequal to the third world,and the gap between developed and developing countries became wider and wider. They succeeded in attracting people’s concern,but unfortunately, they failed to get practical result.
My first feeling towards this movie is that how could they pretend to be those people and organizations without anyone comes to tell the truth? Maybe they didn’t damage other their interests so seriously.
Before the class today I didn’t consider how they affect the world, but now I’m clear that they have done a pretty good job in catching attention but they failed to make our world a better place to live. They complain all the time in the movie but they failed to make a conclusion of what we should do to help change it.
The two creative men telling the world how they are fooled by WTO. The evidences are solid and the criticisms are undisputed correct. Although awaking some people, their efforts helps themselves known rather than other people who still suffer from the inequlity that the WTO rules potentially impose on them. A solution, which is due to be given to solve the problems did not appear in the movie, which is a big shame. To some degree, it is a very picturesque reality show than something that practically cope with challenges.
In my opinion,the two people are interesting and creative,and they also have many views.They express their ideas by many ways though i can’t totally understand them.I think we can learn from them that can carry out ideas to people but not only for complaining.
I think they really crazy, and I believe that they are doing is the average person can’t also dare not do.But they do a lot of things expressed public voice, so win the popular support
They show the influence of the little citizen. What they did is like to create a media for business.
WTO as is a organzation that makes trade between different countries easier goes against its prinple sometimes. the countries of the third world are treated unedually under the “help” of WTO.so i think that a organization of don’t care about the weak party,its influence will be weakened and criticized someday.
I think what they do was good. They didn’t suggest something though. I think this is a part of advance. Because if nobody criticized the fact and let the public know the truth, things will go on just as past.
They didn’t accomplish anything.They just figured out the problem and complained about it.But on another hands,we know something negative about the WTO by their behavior.
Yes, many people know WTO is not always good to every country, erery company, erery body. ererything has its disadvantage, so as WTO. From this movie, we know more about it, but we really don’t have another organization which could instead of it.
TO be truth, YES MAN is a bit difficult to me, and I’m not quite that understand. From my own one-side understanding, I feel that these two men are brave and creativity, at least in a Chinese view. And through watch the movie and get to know what these two men did, I fell maybe they have spread a massage that to speak out what you really want to say. You know, in china, there have a lot of constraints to comment. So these two men may courage us to find or create ways to speak out our own thought, to let every common man’s voice can be heard and be focused.
Actually, the two men are very funny in some way. When they made a report, one of the men worn the golden suit. It need lots of courage. They gave the hamburgers to the audiences , when they ate the hamburgers, the two men told them what the hamburgers made. It sounded very nausea. However, I don’t understand what the film wants to tell us.
After I watched this movie, I think it is crazy of these guys to do such a thing that so many people were cheated by them and even the Finland sent an invitation for them. And then I realized that people in America enjoy the right of free speech indeed. Even you speak ill of the President, it is all right. The last thing I found funny is that the designer in this movie is a genius with so many strange and imaginative creations.
The two men are so crazy but initiative .what they have done has already gone beyond everyone’s imagination. It is appreciated that their determination to make the public realized the truth which some of super coporations and government organizations are not honest to our public and sometime they will take profits more seriously than people in a humor way . As far as I am concerned , however , it will be better if they could do something to promote a solution.
The yes men movie is critical of the WTO. The WTO didn’t realize the goal of helping the developing countries. For example, some big American companies opened subsidiaries in the poor parts of the Mexico. People thought that by this way it could improve peoples’life in these places. However, a few years had gone, the economy of these parts of the Mexico was still at the low level. The WTO did wrong things.
such as the WTO monitoring mechanism must be established, to regulate their operation, to achieve true and justice.
I think the two men are funny and brave.In morden life many big companies or organizations
just for their profits，they are not really care we customers. Nowdays justice is covered by illusion or power politics.
